About Mangnalls Architecture

Mangnalls Architecture is a practice run by architect Edward Gillibrand covering all architectural services. Its ethos is to engage with a place’s culture, history, and traditions to create homes and buildings that set the stage for the life you want to lead.

Mangnalls is delighted to be associated with the leading classical architect Professor Robert Adam, who can be brought onto a project as a consultant.

Prior to starting Mangnalls, Edward worked for ADAM Architecture in Winchester, and Original Field of Architecture in Oxford, gaining experience working on listed buildings and new homes across the South of England, from Oxford colleges to country houses.

The practice name comes Edward’s middle name which originated from when the Gillibrand and Mangnall families joined through marriage in Chorley, Lancashire in the late 19th century. For many years there was the 'Mangnalls' shoe shop on Market Street, Chorley.

Edward is a member of the following architecture groups:

Vernacular Architecture Group

Traditional Architecture Group

As of 2024 Edward is Communication Secretary for the Traditional Architecture Group.
